Braidless after Six Weeks

The length of time a lady can wear extension really depends on that client. Angie happens to be one GoesheGirl who takes hair serious. Her routine includes securing her previous extensions at night with a silk or satin bonnet. In this photo, Angie has just received a shampoo service on a braidless that was installed six weeks ago. Some clients may experience losing the wrap at night so for further help, I suggest using a cotton scarf or wrap on top of the silk/satin bonnet. Never allow your braidless extensions to go uncovered through the night. Extensions are an investment so protect that hair and you too will be able to extend the life of your braidless. 404-849-5345 to book your Braidless service!

Removing your Extensions!

A lot of women try to remove their extensions on their own, and this can result in damage if this process isn't carefully done. 75% of breakage with extensions come from improper removal. But I learned a little trick along the way that really helps take out the extensions with some ease. By using a seam ripper, a person can reduce the work time to almost half. This method saves you from the open and close motion of shears. I know I don't have to say this but don't use your expensive shears for thread or to cut the weft. I've even used a razor blade before! It's a little risky and takes your undivided attention but removes the extensions quickly. I don't suggest the razor if you're having a really busy day in the salon. To the paying clients out there, the best thing is to pay for the removal to ensure that your hair is kept safe. And when in doubt, just call Zekia! 575-4-GOESHE!

Shampooing your extensions!

Lots of ladies visit the salon for the intial installation and are able to maintain the extensions themselves, but for others, a bi-weekly appointment seems to work best to keep the extension service looking presentable. But I wanna give you ladies of GoesheHair a few tips to use as a guide when maintaining your look at home. First, it is important that you consider the type of hair you are shampooing, as silicon is used in some commercial hair. Shampooing with product that contain sulfate can work against and disrupt the silicon used by manufacturing companies to keep artificial hair blends looking smooth and shiny. I have found that using products that contain natural proteins are great for commerical hair, giving it a shiny and clean pallet without hair clumping together. I like to use the CHI Royal Treatment wetline to maintain my clients extensions. This product line is great when using commericial hair or virgin hair. No matter what hair you choose, dont go cheap when deciding on a shampoo and conditioner. It is important that you treat your extensions as your very own hair. Dry scalp can be an issue when wearing extensions so we suggest our clients to pre-treat the scalp using Seabreeze. With a cotton swab, gently apply the astringent solution to dry, itcy areas of the scalp. Allow the solution to sit for five minutes before shampooing with your favorithe clarifying shampoo. In my opinion,(and I do consider myself somewhat of an expert) its best to shampoo your extensions in the shower, keeping the flow of water in a downward motions, along the grain, or with cuticle of the hair shaft. Shampooing your hair while standing in the shower gives your hair and scalp a chance to be cleaned without compromising the quality of the extension service. Always consult with your extensionist if you have concerns when cleaning you hair. When in doubt, allow your extensionist to clean your extensions. Remember, this is a premium service and you dont want to waste your hard earned bucks trying to undergo a task thats far too much for you. But for the rest of you daring divas (who should probably be stylists too) I challenge you to give it a shot. After cleansing the hair, condition properly. Rinse thoroughly and apply a few drop of your favorite serum (mine is the Pearl Complex by CHI's Royal Treatment). Blowdry your hair in a downward motion, keeping control of the brush and blowdryer as you dry you hair. Lastly, use your favorite CHI Ceramic Iron to style the finish!! Hey yall I hope that helps. Im getting really excited about the industry and the growth and expansion of this blog so tell your friends and family about this blog and help me spread the knowledge of our hair!! for more info contact Zekia at 575-446-3743

Who should get a Braidless??

Braidless sew ins are creating a huge buzz around Kansas City as weave wearers and stylists alike question the security of the service. The braidless technique provides another option other than the bonding or fusion methods. Knowing what extensions work best for your hair structure is really important when deciding. Always consult with a professional to determine if you are a likely candidate for braidless. Braidless has become our number one choice for adding hair to ones natural hair. With the proper care, the technique can last up to eight weeks. Stylists, when sewing hair, do sew hair according to the tension required. Not all clients require the same amount of tension and this is really important when installing hair because we don't want to compromise the external intergity of the hair shaft. Knowing just how much tension is required from client to client does require a demo class. Please don't experiment with a paying client. Master this technique using dollheads because remember, practice makes perfect! If you would likE to receive this service, email us at goeshehair@gmail.com. Salon owners interested in a demo class are free to contact us as well! Hope to hear from you soon! 575-4-GOESHE!
